Hollow Knight Silksong Launch Window Just Got Narrower

By The Frag Hub Desk · April 25, 2026

Team Cherry’s notoriously quiet sequel has had its release window narrowed by a single phrase change on the official store page — and the community noticed.

The shift from “Coming Soon” to “Launching 2026” on the Steam page is small, but Team Cherry has not made marketing-coded changes lightly in the past. Combined with the studio’s recent updates to the Xbox Game Pass listing and a quiet music-credit reveal, the back half of 2026 is now the most likely window.

On gameplay, recent footage from a Microsoft showcase confirmed expanded movement options for Hornet, three distinct biomes, and a much more aggressive boss design language than the original. The visual fidelity remains the high-watermark for 2D Metroidvania design.

For PC players, the most consequential confirmation is that Silksong will ship on Steam, Game Pass and GOG simultaneously. The promised launch performance bar — 144Hz, full Steam Deck verified — is also the right thing to commit to.

The Hub Take

A small store-page change is the closest Team Cherry comes to a marketing campaign. 2026 is now legitimately on the table.
