Loupedeck Live S Review — A Better Stream Deck Alternative?
Loupedeck’s smaller Live S sits in the same price bracket as the Stream Deck MK.2 and competes on different terms — and after two weeks, it deserves the comparison.
Build quality is excellent. The 15-key grid uses a different tactile switch profile than Elgato’s, with a slightly softer press that some users will prefer and others will not. The unit ships with a customizable strip on top — basically a row of dynamic shortcut keys with their own LCDs — that has no Stream Deck equivalent.
Loupedeck’s software is the trade-off. The plugin ecosystem is meaningfully smaller than Stream Deck’s, but the official integrations with OBS, Streamlabs, Spotify and the Adobe Creative Cloud apps are all first-rate. If you live in those four apps, the Live S has the smoother UX.
Pricing puts both at $199. For pure OBS-driven streamers, the Stream Deck MK.2 is still the safer pick. For creators who blend streaming with photo/video editing on Adobe tools, the Live S is the better tool. Both are correct picks for different audiences.
Stream Deck MK.2 for pure streamers. Loupedeck Live S for streamer-creators who also edit. Same price, different audiences.
