Wukong Sequel Rumored for 2027 — What the Game Science Leaks Actually Say

By The Frag Hub Desk · April 25, 2026

A trio of internal documents and a fresh recruiting blitz at Game Science have made a 2027 Wukong sequel one of the worst-kept secrets in PC gaming.

The most concrete data point: Game Science’s Hangzhou office posted 40 new senior-level engine and design openings in March, the largest hiring push since the original launch. The job descriptions reference an “open-world action title” with “next-generation traversal” — language that mirrors the 2024 dev diaries from Black Myth Wukong’s lead designer.

Less concrete but consistent: a leaked internal sizzle reel showed an environment that did not match any region from the first game, and a rendering pipeline that appears to be Unreal 5.5 rather than the 5.0 build the original shipped on. The reel was pulled from staging within hours, but enough screenshots circulated to confirm the scope.

Game Science has not commented publicly. The studio’s pattern with the original was to stay completely silent until a polished trailer was ready, and the 2027 timing fits that cadence — assuming a reveal at this year’s Game Awards or summer showcase season.

The Hub Take

A 2027 Wukong sequel is the most likely sequel-rumor outcome on any 2026 board. Expect a TGA reveal at the earliest, summer showcase at the latest.
