ALGS Year 5 Finals Recap — Apex’s Most Stacked Bracket Yet
ALGS Year 5 Finals wrapped this past weekend with the closest top-8 in the tournament’s history.
Champion: TSM in a comeback win on the final two ring rotations, edging out Alliance by 3 kill points. Falcons rounded out the top three after a dominant kill-leader run that fell apart on positioning in match six.
The bigger talking point is roster depth across the field. Twelve teams finished within 30 points of the top three, which is the tightest competitive distribution any Apex Finals has produced. The kill-leader board across the weekend was led by a 19-year-old NA rookie playing his first international event.
For Year 6, EA confirmed minor format adjustments — fewer match-day points, more weight on placement, and a new lower-bracket repechage round. Most pro players are happy with the changes; a few veteran teams have publicly grumbled.
TSM win, but the field is the story. Apex’s competitive scene has more parity than any major battle royale right now.
