Helldivers 3 Confirmed for Late 2027 — What We Know So Far
Arrowhead’s post-Helldivers 2 ambition was always going to be huge — and the studio just confirmed the next mainline entry is in full production.
The reveal came at the studio’s small but well-attended community stream this week. Helldivers 3 will use a new in-house engine, will be built around persistent galactic warfare across multiple fronts, and will keep the Stratagem-driven coop loop that turned the second game into a phenomenon.
Arrowhead also confirmed cross-platform support from day one and a commitment to launch on PC, PS5 and the eventual PS6 generation. The team is taking the time to avoid a Helldivers 2 style launch crunch — which is the right call, even if “late 2027” is a long wait.
The bigger curiosity is what happens to Helldivers 2 in the meantime. The studio said live updates will continue through 2026 and into the 3 launch window, with a “graceful retirement” for the second game’s seasonal content cadence.
Late 2027 is forever in gaming time, but a confirmed Helldivers 3 with a new engine is the news. The hard part is keeping Helldivers 2’s momentum through the bridge.
