Steam Deck OLED 2 — Every Hardware Leak Worth Taking Seriously

By The Frag Hub Desk · April 25, 2026

A succession of FCC filings and a Bloomberg report have all but confirmed that the Steam Deck OLED 2 ships in late 2026.

The headline upgrade according to multiple sources is a custom AMD APU on a refined 4nm process, with roughly 35% more raw GPU performance and significantly better battery life under heavy load. Memory is widely tipped to move to LPDDR5X-8533, with a base storage SKU at 512GB.

The other story is the screen. A higher-quality 8.4-inch OLED panel with VRR support across the full 60-90Hz range is now the most-cited spec, plus a slightly thinner overall chassis. Valve has reportedly settled on the same control layout, which is the right call.

Pricing remains the variable. The original OLED launched at $549 and held that price for two years. Component cost trends suggest a $599 base SKU is realistic — but a $699 ceiling for the top-end model is the most cautious read of current rumors.

The Hub Take

On paper, this is the right kind of refresh — meaningful internals, same form factor, no Steam Deck 3 hype. The question is whether Valve holds the line on price.
